We learned about the different genres in fictional literature last week. Today we went on a scavenger hunt through a Scholastic book order. The students searched for examples of all the different genres and made a collage in their reading notebook!! It was fun to see them put their knowledge into action.
A Wordle is a word cloud! You can make them at http://www.wordle.net/ We each wrote down a word that describes each person in our class. Then made a wordle out of them. They turned out pretty awesome!! Feel free to download :)
What are your summer goals? Our class wrote about what they hope to accomisj this summer. It was fun to see how different the next few months will be for everyone! Ask your kiddo about what they wrote!! Apologizes for not posting lately, we have just been busy learning!! Here are some things we've been up to: For our Animal Adaptation Units we talked about how plants and animals change and adapt to their environment. To see how plants adapt, we planted some grass seed with different additives to observe how the additive can help or harm the grass seed. It was fun to see the students research and choose what additive to put in their grass plant and then watch and observe it over the next couple weeks! The majority of our additives worked and the grass grew quicly Partner Graffiti Walls - telling the story with pictures (each have a different color to draw with!) #handsonlearning #hartfordrocks Our monthly book recommendation time. Sharing what they read the past month and why others should read it. |
